This is my 97 eclipse RS-turbo. I have had this car for about six years and it has been my baby for those six years. I have a family now so it’s becoming pretty impractical to keep. I’ve done alot of work on it, mainly with the engine and drivetrain. The car has mostly highway miles due to being in the military. I overhauled the engine at 100,000 miles with all new bearings, timing belt, oil pump, pistons, rods, head and valvetrain, and all gaskets so the engine only has about 31,000 miles on it! I’ve changed the oil every 3,000 miles, the spark plugs every 5,000 and the transmission fluid 2 times a year. It’s about 10 yrs old so the paint doesn’t look spectacular due to some fading and there are a quite a few nicks from highway driving but the body is in overall good condition. The car runs 17 psi boost and is daily driven with no problems. I’ve never gotten the chance to dyno the car but horsepower is estimated to be around 320 with a stock head and cams. There is still a lot more potential for power with more boost, a larger intercooler, and ignition (stock ignition is capable of supporting 22psi!) 400 hp is capable with the 16g turbo that is on the engine now and 500 hp with a 20g upgrade from Hahnracecraft. Since the car is light I’ve had no problem beating most V8’s. It has great handling and is good on long trips. Gas mileage is 20 mpg in the city and 24mpg on the highway. Air conditioning works great as well.
