SPONSORED CHEVY COBALT SS RECARO SHOW CAR! WITH POWER!
Listed is my project of 3 years, my 2006 cobalt show car. fully loaded with every factory option including XM and onstar.... and a limited package called G85 which includes limited production Recaro Racing seats, and a limited slip diff transmission upgrade over the other SS cobalts. The car is factory supercharged but has been modified up and over that. car has only 11,000 miles on it... but 3,000 on motor!
Motor and Power Adders:
in this car is a 2.0L ecotec FI motor. Purchased it when the car had around 7-8,000 miles on it. The new engine (From Crate Engine Depot- a GM new engine sales store) was torn down and went through a very extensive build. The Pistons were replaced with Diamond Pistons forged and coated pistons. Locking the pistons to the Forged rods are a heavy duty set of Performance Pins and locks. ARP made a custom Rod bolt design just for our build to fasten the rods to the forged crank. I swapped out the factory balance shafts that limit the car down 15 hp and hold the car back from being able to safely run over 6,000RPMs. Also the oil pump gear was swapped out for a hardened gear to ensure saftey at high rpm. Moving up to the head we ported and polished the intake and exhaust ports, and opened up the cylinder dome on the head adding a little bit more cubic inch. The valve springs had to go to make room for the new cam (272 duration) that we had custom grinded. the new valve springs are made by supertech and are dual coil springs. that also made the car able to run much higher RPMs. The supercharger was then ported out and got a 2.6 pulley and placed back on the motor along with the intake manifold. We upgrade the SC cooling system to a double cooler set up mounting a front mount on the car. The fuel system was alos upgraded and 60# siemens injectors were dropped in. It has a fujita cold air intake and a full catless custom exhaust set up. Tuned with HPtuners on dyno. Runs 20-25 psi. Also has snow performance stage 2 methanol injection.
