FOR SALE - Lexus SC400 with R-154 Manual Transmission For Sale! Nearly perfect 1995 Lexus SC400 v-8 with a manual transmission! Yea, you read that right, manual! I swapped in a freshly rebuilt 5-speed transmission from the mk3 Toyota Supra Turbo (r154). It has all the right parts, from the people who first made the swap possible: SWAP PARTS Quantum-Auto (who was first in mating the v8 Lexi with manuals) made the r154 adapter plate, clutch, and flywheel. It uses a hydraulic Tilton clutch, with stainless clutch lines. All the interior parts are BRAND NEW from Lexus (manual shifter bezel and shift boot, clutch pedal and assembly, brake pedal, and clutch master cylinder are all OEM for the SC300), along with the bag of random nuts/bolts/parts to make it happen. TRANSMISSION The car’s R154 transmission is a work of art in itself. It was rebuilt by a local transmission repair shop with a Toyota rebuild kit complete will all bearings, syncros, and seals. In addition, a billet shifter fork, thrust bearing, and bearing retainer plate from sourced from Marlin Crawler. The result is basically the same transmission that Marlin Crawler used to sell for $2000, and which they aren’t making anymore. If you aren’t familiar with Marlin Crawler, then look on any Supra or Lexus forum online. These guys are the best for r154 tranny parts. The transmission has less than 500 miles on it since major rebuild and install. Very few of the v8 Lexus SC400s with manuals used the r154 transmission. Many of the earlier (and thusly problematic) swaps used the easier to source w58 manual transmission from the non-Turbo Supra. The w58 is inferior to the r154 in terms of its abilities under high torque. I did my research before doing the swap and chose to go with the r154 despite already having the w58, and the higher-cost of the r154 as well as swap parts. Still other troubled swaps tried to use the factory style clutch system from the supra of SC300, which doesn’t seem to work as well as the Tilton setup I used. As a result of all this you can really play on this transmission without worrying about it breaking. MODIFICATIONS It also has a custom aluminum 1-piece driveshaft from Drift Motion. I also installed poly rear differential bushings from SupraForums. Car is currently slammed on Supra Struts and lowering springs, but I will be swapping in slightly taller coil-over setup soon. Car also fitted with HID low-beams, the headlights are clear coated, and the taillights are partially tinted. OTHER NEW PARTS Car has many stock new parts (battery, complete ignition system, climate control LCD, gauge and needle lighting, steering rack, all suspension bushings, all seats, headlights, and taillights). When I replaced the steering rack, I also replaced the old steering line with braided stainless steel line, also from Drift Motion. At the time of the transmission swap the brake booster was rebuilt too. Car has less than 1000 miles on new tires all around, with road hazard warranty. CONDITION The engine runs great with no leaks. All of the typical problems with these cars have already been taken care of. The main things that you need to worry about on these models were the steering rack, the suspension bearings, the timing belt, the climate control LCD, and the gauges and needles lighting. All of these things have been fixed in the last year and it had major timing belt service done less than 50k ago, so should be good to go for years. I bought this car from a Lexus technician, and this is my sixth Lexus, so it has been well taken care of. Mechanically this car is as good as new. I have too many cars and must sell a few before moving.

Obviously the stock engine is still running strong (as discussed before). Also included is the begining of a 4.7 Tundra block swap. What is included: a Tundra 4.7 block and crankshaft, a 1uz oil pan and pickup, 1uz connecting rods, and 1uz heads. You can add custom Ross pistons (either stock compression or lower compression for turbo setup), a gasket set, oil/water pumps, and a timing kit, and assemble it - instant 60rwhp upgade. Add some larger injectors and a Apexi Neo and you can have 100rwhp gain without boost. AND it will still fit to the built r154 manual transmission installed in the car!

The body is in good shape for the age except for one dent in the Driver"s rear corner. I actually have another black bumper I will throw in with the car, but to fully repair the dent you may need to have it pulled and repainted. Honestly I dont even notice it, and most people dont either. I would give the car a 9/10.

New seats! Took out the old torn ones this Spring and installed super clean factory tan leather seats. Door panels are showing their age, but everything is all good inside overall. The only panel I want to replace is the driver"s door armrest, which has a crack in it near the switches. I would give the interior a 9/10

Car has Supra struts and springs on it now, but may be moving slightly taller to a coil-over setup soon.

The trailer-hitch sized dent in the rear driver’s side, where the quarter panel meets the rear bumper (only noticeable if you look for it). The Driver"s door armrest has crack near switches. .....Thats really it.
