This is a very clean 1997 Jetta GLX VR6. I bought this car in 2003 from a seller in Arizona that was moving out of country. The car has never seen a winter. It was very clean and had been very cared for very well. The paint was a bit faded due to the intense sun out there. The car was repainted in 2005 the OEM Winsor Blue Metallic. I have invested so much into this car in every aspect it is a hard car for me to sell. I have two others cars and the time has come for me to sell one. The Jetta has been totally gone through.
The interior is very clean for its year. The drivers seat bolster has some wear, no rips though. The carpet, headliner, and trunk look very clean. Paint has no major flaws since the work done in 2005. The car has been stored from July 2005 to February 2009. I brought the car out of storage, changed all the fluid including coolant, oil and transmission fluid. The engine work and addition of the stage 3 kit were added at 122,000 miles. Car runs great, shifts well and AC is cold. I have not driven this car much recently and have not tagged it since 2005. I do still carr insurance through USAA on it. I have a form fitting car cover that will go with the car used for storage.
Engine work includes: Head Stage 6.8 Race prep by TM Tuning in Germany, new OEM VW head gasket, Piper 268 Cams, VF Engineering Stage 3 Supercharger Kit 10psi, new chains and guides, Neuspeed Shifter, VF Urethane front mount, Techtonics stainless high-flow cat. converter, fidanza lightened flywheel, and ACT Stage 2 clutch. The engine has less than 5,000 miles since the rebuild and is very strong.
The suspension upgrades include a set of HR cup kit spring on strut, and a neuspeed strut brace. The brakes are 13 inch 2-piece rotors with the 4-piston wilwood calipers installed with stainless brake lines. The wheels and tires are 17 x 8 Audi TT Quattro five spokes with Michelin Pilot Sports. Tires have approximately 7/32 fron t and rear.
The body work was done by Extreme Collision in Osawatomie, KS. It included a front clip from a VW Golf, Euro front lip, Euro 1 peice glass fogs, Black-housing Golf headlights, Kamei Grill, VIS Carbon Hood and paint matched lip kit. The car looks amazing! Paint is show quality!
This car is estimated to have around 335hp. It runs incredibly strong. I have never had it at the track, although I would assume it would be a 12 sec car. This is a one of a kind VW.
